The candy bar continuum is a continuum of candy bars and candy bar like foods that stretch from sugary, taste oriented candy like Skittles and Star Burst to fatty, stomach pleasing candy such as Snickers and Mars.

Of course, most of this judgement is psychologically based and a matter of personal taste. For example, many people would look at Peanut M&Ms as being on the sugary end of the continuum, because of their small, bite size and brightly colored shells. Another person would think of the thick milk chocolate covering and protein rich peanuts, and think of Peanut M&Ms as a filling, satisfying stomach pleaser.

Just about every mainstream candy bar fits in here, although your Luna Bars and yuppie snacks, of course, can't be analyzed with the same ease.
