For example, we say eavestrough to refer to the gutter that takes the water from your roof (a trough that's mounted on the eaves, hence the name). We drink pop not soda. We add an extra "u" to colour and harbour and neighbour.
Another example, we've got Robertson screws which have a square shaped socket for the screwdriver. Better than Phillips or slotted screws, but some licensing arrangement kept them out of the 'States.
