A
blessed
chainsaw is by far the best weapon for killing
zombies and the
shambling undead. With a normal chainsaw, there is the possibility that the first blow will not
disable the zombie, allowing it to counterattack with its
tetanus-laden clawlike
hands and rotting
teeth before it can be properly
dismembered.
The blessed chainsaw, however, will not only cleave the zombie, but will also burn its pustulent flesh with holy fire. To get one of these powerful weapons, take an ordinary chainsaw (preferably one of the long-bladed models used by loggers), and get a priest, rabbi or other spiritually powerful individual to bless it and thus render it holy. Proper explanation of your undead-hunting mission is usually essential to securing their cooperation.
