benchmark and
marksmanship. Used to describe the practise of cheating in computer benchmark tests by writing sections in your
compiler to catch specific features common to benchmarks, and optimise them away. Interpreting the benchmarking rules liberally can also help.
This can artificially improve the performance figure for your machine.
