An early/mid-60's British (or European, singing in English) band, in the mold of the early Beatles; a bunch of well-scrubbed smiling lads in matching suits, with some rhythm and blues covers and a handful of poppy originals. The Dave Clark Five, Herman's Hermits, etc. Some, like The Yardbirds, or the Rolling Stones, were more hardcore or purist about keeping to the blues/R-and-B roots, but most of them "sold out" eventually.
