Charles M. Schulz's cartoon strip did leave one impression on my life: In one particular strip,
Linus freaks
Charlie Brown out by informing him that he is
aware of his tongue.
I thought nothing of it, until an hour later, I became aware of my tongue. One usually just accepts the fact that there is a large, slimy sliver of flesh hanging in your mouth and down your gullet. Its a weird feeling to be aware of it and then you don't quite know what to do with it.
And try as you may, the more you try to forget about it, the more you are aware of your tongue. One of those self-fulfilling prophecies in some sort of way.
