A property of certain items in NetHack that causes them to move towards a cursed state when dropped. That is, if the item is blessed, dropping it will cause it to become uncursed, and picking it up and dropping it again will cause it to become cursed. Loadstones are the most infamous example. A scroll of scare monster exhibits similar behavior, but they turn to dust if picked up while cursed.

So, to sum up, if you manage to uncurse and finally get rid of a loadstone, don't pick it up again.
