A clear, colorless organic acid, CH3COOH, with a distinctive pungent odor, used as a solvent and in the manufacture of rubber, plastics, acetate fibers, pharmaceuticals, and photographic chemicals. A mixture of 19 parts water and 1 part acetic acid is common table vinegar.

Known commonly as vinegar. Does somewhat interesting things when mixed with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).
