chimera who first opposes -- but later joins with -- the self-styled "beautiful sorcery genius,"
Lina Inverse, in the
anime series entitled "The
Slayers." He is serious and reserved, holding within himself an intense hatred of Rezo the Red Priest for making him what he is.
Zelgadis has an intense knowledge of
magic, which he never hesitates to use in a tight spot.
His first name is written in
katakana as 'ze-ru-ga-di-su,' leading to the widely-accepted romanization "Zelgadis." His last name, however, has been transliterated as "Graywords", "Greywers", and variations of these.
