polyphonic digital synthesizer with a 61-note
keyboard. Released in
1985.
The DX21 is a
cheap consumer level synth, which has said to sound nealy identical to the
DX100 and
DX27 models. It offers a 4-operator
FM engine typical to the
DX line. To
spice up the sounds a
chorus effect is included.
128
patches and 16
performances can be stored in the unit's internal
memory. For more storage there is also the traditional
tape interface.
The keyboard is not
velocity or
aftertouch sensitive, but does respond to both from an external
source. It can be
split and
layered, with a
mono mode also available.
Other features include
pitch &
modulation wheels, dual
detune and
MIDI in/out/thru.
