Williamson Rock is a popular
sport climbing area in the
Angeles National Forest. Located an hour up the
Angeles Crest Highway (Route 2) above
La Canada in
Southern California, it has lots of sport routes from rated from 5.6 to 5.13.
Williamson is really many rocks in close proximity to each other. On weekends, the many climbers are also in close proximity to each other. The routes are somewhat over-bolted. The advantages of Williamson are that it's a shorter drive than Tahquitz or Joshua Tree, and that (unlike Stoney Point) it is possible to do lead climbing here.
