When I was pregnant I could not wear my contact lenses because my vision changed and I could not seem make enough moisture to make them comfortable on my eye.

For about ten months my contacts sat in their little container, waiting for me. I got them out one day and lifted them up to the light to see if any thing had happened in my absence.

There was a teeny ball shaped speck, the size of a dress pin head. It was covered with a multitude of spikes. I am glad it did not go in my eye. I was not really all that careful about cleaning my contacts and used to sleep in them and wear them for weeks at a time. I am not sure if the spiky ball was a result of that carelessness or its long incubation in the dark of my medicine cabinet. Whatever the case, after almost putting this little mace into my eye, I have decided to return to glasses.
