As a devout atheist I have tried to stop using “god” and “jesus” as curse words, since I think that the concept of gods or jesuses is not only wrong but also destructive. It was very hard so I came up with this: “Were there a god!” as an alternative curse. Similarly, “by the sludge that spawned us” or even “great globe in darkness”.
