Situated in the High Cascades, this is one of the largest lakes in Oregon. It is also one of the purest lakes in the world, a favorite camping spot of naturalists. Situated on the Pacific Crest Trail, and surrounded by medium difficulty trails. No motor boats allowed, and a speed limit of 5mph, please.

This lake is so pure, that there are almost no native fish. However, it has been stocked with both brook trout and rainbow trout. This has not been particularly successful, however.

Over 400 feet deep in the middle, but even there the bottom only looks like it's 20 feet down. Beautiful!
