Walden Two is a book by B.F. Skinner about an utopian community. Apparently, it was deemed highly controversial at the time it was written, though for the life of me I cannot figure out why. It concerns itself with using behavioral science to modify the actions of the members of the community. In return for following simple rules, you need only work 4 hours a day, eat delicious food, engage in artistic activity (or whatever activity you prefer) and live a carefree life. True, there is no freedom but neither is there non-freedom. So as a whole, I do not see any controversy. I just wouldn't like it cause I don't really like being happy enough to be it all the time.
