Radio station operated by students of Emerson College in Boston, MA. Genres of music played include folk, jazz, reggae, a cappella, world music, classical, klezmer, children's, show tunes, hip-hop, indie rock, blues, electronica, and metal, as well as talk shows and public information programs.
The station routinely wins awards from the Associated Press for its news reporting, and is generally regarded as one of the best college stations in the country, as well as being one of the longest-range college radio stations run entirely by students. http://www.wers.org states that "more live performances can be heard on WERS than any other radio station in the country".
WERS no longer streams its programming over the Internet, but it can be heard at 88.9 FM in parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Connecticut.
