The Utilidor is the name of the famous
tunnel system underneath the
Magic Kingdom at
Walt Disney World.
Cast members use the Utilidor to move about the park without being seen by
guests. The Utilidor has a
break area,
cafeteria (known as the
Fantasyland Dining Room or
Mouseketeeria),
barber shop,
bank,
costuming, and more.
There are 17 stairways into the tunnel system providing access to all of the Magic Kingdom's lands.
In the center of the Utilidor is an elevator which leads to an apartment in Cinderella's Castle which was intended for Walt Disney. Unfortunately Walt died before the park's opening in 1971.
