History/Info:

One of 3 US Highways not to be truncated or generally altered during the arrival of the interstates in the 1960s (See: California Route Renumbering). It is imporant to the business of the Pacific Northwest in that truckers use it because of its gentler grade as compared to that of Interstate 5.
