The Secretary of the Treasury is, as a member of the National Economic Council, the chief advisor to the President of the United States of America in all domestic and international economic matters. The Secretary of the Treasury heads the Treasury Department and is, among other things, responsible for formulating tax policies and public debt management policies. They also regulate and delegate the manufacturing of currency.
