"Trespassers will be violated" is a
joke sign motif. It essentially combines components from two common warning signs often seen, one being that trespassers will be
prosecuted, and the other being that
violators will be prosecuted--the
violation under consideration being the violation of
property rights inherent in an act of
trespassing. The
comedy is dark, the proposition of a person being "violated" bringing to mind imagery much more disturbing than that of somebody simply enduring a
prosecution.
