Mr. E., who occasionally meet to combat
global crises.
Their most famous appearance so far has been in the original pilot mini-series of The Books of Magic, where they act as Tim Hunter's guides to past, present, other realms and future, respectively.
The name comes from a wisecrack Constantine makes at the start of Books: "Just what the world's been waiting for. The Charge of the Trenchcoat Brigade", referring to the four's preferred mode of dress.
