A contemporary totalisator is a system that records and totals the investments on runners in horse or dog races, and on players in Jai Alai Games in specific pools which are related to the method of calculating the winning investments. This system provides distributed points of sale where tickets are issued as a customer record of the investment. The system provides some display through which bettors can determine the approximate dividends in the event that their investments are winning ones. The system calculates, displays and pays out the dividends.
