Play written by Suzan-Lori Parks that won the Pulitzer Prize in 2002. It is about two black men who are also brothers, Lincoln and Booth. Lincoln dresses up in whiteface as the sixteenth President for his job in an arcade, while his borther Booth is training to be a three card monte dealer/con artist. Three card monte has a particular signifigance in her life, since she met her fiance on the street while he was playing the game. The play shows the conflict that emerges between the two brothers over a period of time after they share the same apartment, a kind of microcosm for the tensions of the world around them. The play is a funny, poignant in the tradition of the Greek myths that so influenced Parks.
