A late-60's fusion of the organ trio and the power trio;
Tony Williams (loud drums), Larry Young (organ), and John McLaughlin (guitar and fuzzbox). Jack Bruce joined later, on bass and occasional vocals. The repertoire included John Coltrane and Carla Bley tunes, and McLaughlin material that later found its way onto the Mahavishnu Orchestra setlist. Williams kept the Lifetime name going during the 70's with different musicians, including Allan Holdsworth.
