Not getting what you want out of life? Feeling left out or left behind?

There was a time, not too long ago, where the answer would be "work harder," "work smarter," or "get more education."

Not today. Today, when you want something you don't have, just whine like a 3 year-old. Whine and bitch and pout and you'll get it handed to you because, darn it, we're just nice. (And we are sick of hearing your crap. And we can't change the way you turned out 'cause we weren't there during your formative years to beat the everloving crap out of you when you acted like this at home.)

This is a great old saying because of the visual image. The folks in the Conestoga wagon are working their way to the promised land, but there goes that darn squeaky wheel again. Perhaps it even goes back further. I've always wanted to know who the very first person to say these old sayings was, and if they realized they'd just said something that would last forever.
