Got this idea in
the bar last night, and whispered it to my
bartender. She's planning on sharing it with the owner, and pretty soon we'll have an event going. It's the dot-com drink special, and it goes like this:
DOT-COM DRINK SPECIAL
Laid off?
Drown your sorrows in cheap beer!
$1.50 pints, ALL NIGHT LONG
Present your pink slip at the bar to qualify!
The idea is that it'll be a commiseration session and a networking event all in one. Who knows? Maybe the drunken gathering of our era's unemployed will yield the next big thing, the startup nouveau that will bring us all riches and fame. Maybe.
