An excellent line in Fight Club in which Marla Singer relates wisdom about modern culture to the narrator.

"The condom is the glass slipper of our generation. You slip one on when you meet a stranger. You... dance all night... then you throw it away."

A great comparison, I think.

Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club (the book, not the screen play) says that this line stems from his observation that about ten years ago condoms were hardly seen anywhere in public, but now, one can literally find them on the streets, at bus stops, in public trash cans, etc.
