Early 80's rock band based in
Atlanta but a big part of the
Athens, GA scene --
R.E.M. once opened for
them! while the Q's themselves got to open for
Devo and
The B-52's. Band members included guitaris
Bob Elsey, singer
Anne Richmond Boston (who went on to a solo career) and founder/vocalist
Jeff Calder, originally from
Florida.
The Q's never got the recognition of, say, R.E.M., but they're getting a second wind. Calder has re-formed the band, and they've got a new CD coming (as of summer 2001); plus, their debut album, "The Deep End," has been re-released by Atlanta label DB Recs.
