The Soft Parade is an album by The Doors and a song of the same name on that album. My copy of the CD says Copyright 1975, though Segnbora-t says it came out in the 60's.

Track listing:

  1. Tell All the People
  2. Touch Me
  3. Shaman's Blues
  4. Do It
  5. Easy Ride
  6. Wild Child
  7. Runnin' Blue
  8. Wishful Sinful
  9. The Soft Parade
The song begins with Jim Morrison talking. He says: "When I was back there in seminary school, there was a person who put forth the proposition that you can petition the Lord with prayer... petition the Lord with prayer... petition the Lord with prayer... YOU CANNOT PETITION THE LORD WITH PRAYER!" Then the music starts.

My source for saying it came out in 1969 is The Doors/Jim Morrison biography No One Here Gets Out Alive, and now that I check it, Tregoweth's The Billboard Book of Top 40 Albums says it first charted in 1969. The date on the album is only a copyright, and the copyright on a rerelease may be later (my cassette of the album says 1989).
