((Pet peeve: Lyrics nodes without any content besides the lyrics. A little context goes a long way...))

The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get is a single by Morrissey (former singer for The Smiths). Originally released in February 1994 with the b-sides Used To Be A Sweet Boy and I'd Love To on Parlophone. The single is taken from the Vauxhall And I album.

As usual, the 7" omits the second b-side. The 12" version of the single is a limited edition, numbered release (though I've no idea how many copies were made; I've got number 12946). Included with this 12" is a poster (roughly 18" x 27") of the cover photo. There are no interesting messages in the runoff groove. The French version of the CD-single also contains a poster. Promo versions of the 7" and the CD issued in the UK have a different cover photo.

The song also appears on the live Introducing Morrissey video and on the Suedehead best-of album.
