5 minutes: Cauliflower and armadillo are in love
It was totally hopeless for them, but it's not like anybody can control how they feel.
If there was nothing else in the world, things would have gone much easier for them, but they lived in a world with social expectations, one where plants and animals simply did not do that sort of thing, particularly not members of their families.
This would not be Romeo and Juliet. They would not be able to run away together. They would each be locked within their own social circles by invisible chains.
Their love was not unrequited, but it might as well have been. The chasm between them had the width of a universe.
In the end, all they could do was abandon their childish dreams.
