The Great Grape Ape was a big, purple gorilla who stood 30-feet tall and had a sidekick, a talking dog named Beegle Beagle. They got into all sorts of trouble, mainly due to Grape Ape's enormous size.

The duo originally appeared on Hanna-Barbera's Tom and Jerry television show in 1975, but was moved to his own show in 1976. The Great Grape Ape Show was cancelled soon thereafter, but Grape Ape and Beegle Beagle soldiered on on Scooby Do's All-Star Laff-a-lympics. Grape Ape was voiced by Bob Holt and Beegle Beagle was voiced by Marty Ingels.

The Great Grape Ape theme song:

Grape Ape! Over 40 feet high!
Grape Ape! Just a little bit shy!
Grape Ape! What a super-strong guy!
Yup, that's me! The Grape Ape!

Grape Ape! If he comes to your town,
Grape Ape! He will really put down
Grape Ape! Any bad guy around!
Yup, that's me! The Grape Ape!

What a sight to see him jogging, block after block!
Things begin to shake and quake, rattle and rock!
The big, big, big, big gorilla!

Grape Ape! I do not reccomend
Achoo! He is one to offend...
Grape Ape! So, be sure he's your friend!
Better be sure! The Great Grape Ape!
Yup, that's me!
