The Community and Youth Workers' Union or CYWU was formed in 1938 by ten women volunteers that has since grown into an independent trade union that now represents some 4,500 members employed (either paid or unpaid) as youth workers, and workers in youth theatr, community education or outdoor education within the United Kingdom.

The CYWU also provides trade union services for an organisation named Amaze which is the professional body for Christian youth and children's workers in the United Kingdom.
