This Brunching Shuttlecocks feature rocks my world. In it, a sage BS writer will pick a topic and rate specific examples of that topic grade school fashion (i.e. A+, A, A-, B+, etc...)

A recent example would be "things to sit on" in which L. Fitzgerald Sjöberg examines the minutiae of rocking chairs, lawn chairs, movie theater seats (garnering a well-deserved, if not slightly generous, D), barstools, bean bags, and high chairs.

Alas, as of some point in the middle of May 2003, the Brunching Shuttlecocks is no more. The archives will apparently remain, however, and you may be able to fulfill some of your Lore cravings at The Slumbering Lungfish Dybbuk Hostel and All-Night Boulangerie at http://slumbering.lungfish.com/, while Dave will still play the Self-Made Critic at, amazingly enough, http://www.selfmadecritic.com

It is a sad time.

edit: Twinxor sends word that "The Book of Ratings is still kicking around at http://www.bookofratings.com"
