Where they store all the
cliches,
tricks, and
what have you the media has ever come up with and/or used. As in, "that's the
oldest trick in the book".
Some cliches that have made it into "The Book":
"It's quiet... too quiet."
"Don't touch that dial!"

damsel in distress
The irony of the situation is that "the oldest cliche in the book" has itself become a cliche. Isn't learning fun?
