Published 1969. Supposedly non-fiction story by Farley Mowat about a rotting wooden schooner he buys somewhere on the coast of Newfoundland, Canada and rejuvinates into working condition. This book is more lighthearted than Never Cry Wolf, almost to the point of being a comedy of errors. Mowat has dreams of sailing off to someplace warm and tropical, but the boat leaks, the rudder falls off, and all manner of nautical things go wrong. If I remember correctly, he eventually ends up sailing it up the Saint Lawrence waterway, but never makes it anywhere tropical.
