The Ben Stiller Show

A show that died before it's time. The four stars were Ben Stiller, Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, and Bob Odenkirk. Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ben's girlfriend at the time, also popped up often. David Cross wrote for the show, and would later team up with Bob for the HBO series Mr. Show.

Every episode was a series of sketches linked by vignettes of Ben and a guest star talking. Guest stars included Larry Sanders, Roseanne Barr, Colin Quinn and Bob Goldthwait.

Recurring sketches included:

• Melrose Hights 902102402 - A parody of Beverly Hills 90210
• Cops in (insert historical period here) - An episode of Cops set in a random historical period. For the cops, complete with aviator glasses would track down a witch in 1700's Salem. Colin Quinn was a regular for these.
• Skank - a parody of all sitcoms featuring a foul mouthed sock puppet. His catchphrase was "Shut Your Stinkin' Trap!"
• Power agent - Ben would often play a Hollywood agent who sucked up to his clients.
• Ben also often did impressions of Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, and many others.

Despite the show winning the 1993 Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing in a Variety or Music Program, The Ben Stiller Show only lasted 13 episodes. However, if you're interested, but you can usually find every episode on one tape for a reasonable price on Ebay
