This is a
history book written by Thomas A. Bailey and David M. Kennedy. You will cringe at the sight of this book. We use it as one of three
textbooks in my
AP U.S. History class, and are currently in the middle of the book. One of my favorite lines from this book is in a chapter about
the 13 colonies, referring to
crop expansion. It reads:
"The farmer had only to tickle the soil with a hoe and it would laugh with harvest."
Besides this, they use a bunch of alliteration everywhere. And refer to well-known historical figures as pathetic. Such a subjective, biased textbook and yet so damn fun to read. I don't think a day has gone by where I don't smile and giggle as I flip each page. I still cringe though later on.
