A frequent comment by both
hockey announcers and fans, after a player is bashed into the ice or the sideboards.
In the
United States it is often spoken in a whispered voice, in
sympathy for the bashed player, as in:
"gosh, wow, that's gotta hurt."
In Canada, or among more hardcore hockey fans, it is shouted, gleefully, in sincere respect
"Man, that's gotta hurt!"
