Thames Trains is a Train Operating Company providing commuter and tourist
rail services to the west of London. It serves the commuter towns of the Thames
valley - sometimes called the M4 Corridor, after the principal motorway to the
west. It also runs to the historic university city of Oxford, Shakespeare's home town of Stratford-upon-Avon, and the medieval
stronghold of Warwick. In conjunction with First Great Western, it serves Bath
and Bristol too, further to the west.
The company forms part of the Go-Ahead Group, and its head offices are in
Reading, which also serves as a sort of hub for its services. Go-Ahead's own head
office is in Newcastle upon Tyne. The group also owns Thameslink and South
Central Trains, and has a working partnership with the French company Keolis. On
