There is something not quite right here. I can't find any enthusiasm to study this. It's not quite a hate of market research, or accounting, or even proposals and reports. In fact, I agree these are unfortunately necessary for any sort of functioning business...

But look at these words. Market positioning. Strategy. Market intelligence. Windows of opportunity. Unique selling points. Sunk costs. Target markets. These are such militant terms. It seems we are at war, but with who?.

Do people take this seriously? Do people stand there, with a patronising list of the customers' "needs" (and who is this dumb automaton, 'the customer', anyway?), and coldly enumerate a logical plan for screwing as many people out of as many dollars as possible? Is this the heart this happy infinite prosperous economic growth everyone talks about? Capitalism and exploitation and greed and capitalism and exploitation and greed...

Definitely people are a problem, I don't know. Well, for three hours tomorrow I have to pretend I do.
