Galactus, the world destroyer from the Marvel Comics universe, was born an ordinary mortal named Galen, a member of a humanoid race from the planet Taa. Taa was the most advanced civilization in a universe which predated the Big Bang. After Galen became Galactus, he named his world-ship in honor of his home planet.
