Town on the south-western outskirts of London and part of the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames. Has become synonymous with suburbia in Britain, which was encouraged by the BBC TV sitcom The Good Life. This part of London has also proved inspirational for another sitcom, Stella Street. This street is of course where all of the top rock and film stars such as Mick Jagger and Al Pacino live, not to mention Jimmy Hill.
The current (2000) MP for the constituency Kingston And Surbiton is the Liberal Democrat Edward Davey.
