Vires et Honestas

The phrase "Strength and Honor" is a phrase that was extremely popularised in the film "Gladiator" starring Russell Crowe. It is the motto, or oath, of both Emperor Cæsar Marcus Aurelius (A.D 161 - 180) and the Roman Army. It is used almost as a battlecry (but not as much as Victor Roma) throughout and in the opening scene of the film, the Roman attack on Germania. Accoring to Discovery Channel it has similarities with "Semper Fi" (U.S. Marine Corps), or vice versa. All this from Discovery Channel. Oh my.
