Spike: That's cold! That's why I said we should throw out mongrels like this one!

Jet: But you're the one that brought it here! In any case, we have to do something about the ticks.

Spike: Shit... I'm gonna salt you and eat you, dammit!

-Spike Spiegel and Jet Black talking about their new companion, Ein the Data Dog.
Stray Dog Strut is the 2nd episode of the 26 episode television anime series, Cowboy Bebop. This episode was written by Michiko Yokote, and originally broadcast as episode 1 on 04.03.98, WOWOW broadcast this episode in its proper place on 10.30.98.

Cowboy Bebop is a science fiction show that follows a crew of misfit bounty hunters. Spike Spiegel, an ex-assassin for a crime syndicate; Jet Black, an ex-law enforcement agent; Faye Valentine, a thief, gambler, and seductress; Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, a teenage computer genius; and Einstein, a data dog. At the moment we have only met Spike and Jet, but in this episode they shall meet a new companion.

The target this time is Abdul Hakim, a serial animal thief. He's stolen what's known as a data dog, an illegal experimental animal, which is quite valuable in certain circles. He's also no stranger to escaping from people being quite well trained in martial arts as well as having plastic surgery.

While Abdul finds problems in recovering his loot from a thief, Spike is having problems locating Abdul. Then there is also the scientists who are trying to recover the seemingly worthless Welsh Corgi, Ein. Which is really more valuable, the bounty on Abdul's head, or the dog?
