Advocacy group for the improvement of the New York City subway system. They have been around since 1979 and claim unlimited-ride transit passes and over $20 billion in funds allocated for the subway renovations based on their efforts.

More recognizable for New Yorkers is their transit system report cards released every season that rank the subway lines based on the following criteria:

In addition to individual categorical ratings, the Straphangers Campaign also gives an overall rating (cleverly based on a dollar amount that estimates the ride's worth to criticize the recent price hike). The following are the current listings from best to worst with ratings ($1.50 is the best possible rating, showing full value for what you pay):
