Strandhill is a small town located beside the sea in the North west of Ireland. It is about 3 miles from Sligo town. Best known for its surfing beach, it is overlooked by the beautiful Knocknarea mountain, on top of which legendary Queen Maedbh is allegedly buried. It is also close to Carrowmore megalithic tombs, for those interested in history. For relaxing, the seaweed baths are ideal. Well worth a visit for the local scenery alone.
