Steven Margoshes - musical composer
Composer Steven Margoshes got best known for his orchestrations of The Who's Tommy at Broadway. For this he received the Drama Desk Award and for the cd-recordings of this George Martin musical, he became a Grammy Award winner.
Steven Margoshes also contributed to many other musicals with his instrumentations, including Grease, Smokey Joe's Café, Dance of the Vampires, Aïda and Fame. Of the latter's title song, he composed a classical suite for the Symphony Orchestra.
He is also known for his musical version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, using Shakespeare's texts as lyrics to the musical.
