In the
1984 blockbuster comedy Ghostbusters, the
chaos god Gozer lets the Ghostbuster choose what will bring
the end of the world.
Peter Venkman (played by
Bill Murray) instructs his three teammates to clear their minds. Instead,
Raymond Stantz (played by
Dan Aykroyd) thinks of the least dangerous thing he can - the Stay Puft
Marshmallow Man.
Gozer summons a giant version of the The Marshmallow Man, who bears more then a passing resemblance to the Pillsbury Doughboy. The only difference is that the Marshmallow Man has a sailor cap, sailor tie, and blue bib. Gozer's version of The Marshmallow Man towers over buildings and starts running amok in New York City. I won't spoil how, but the Ghostbusters do find a way to stop him. Unfortunately, this covers New York City in marshmallow. In Ghostbusters 2, the Ghostbusters would be sued for this.
