The Song of Ceber
Argument: Takara, the Clockwork Goddess curses the Kuroni for offering a spoiled offering and brings drought to their land. Desperate, the Kuroni attack the ants in Valayis to gain their wells.

Conflict
Now came a time in Oxyear
That the Kuroni having spread far
Came into conflict with the ants of the cave.
Ant Shnon, great queen, quickly saw danger.
Among the ants anger rose
at the invaders.
The Kuroni came from Comely
Driven by drought drinkless
Thirsty in the desert cursed
By Takara’s wrath
She raged over some small offense.
The Clockwork Goddess’s mercy
Had no beginning.
Chesta, daughter of Chesoo
Had given the goddess of gears
a soiled offering:
A black ewe died in birthing its calf.
For this Takara
Lady of Counting Clocks cursed the land.
The world might be beyond the god’s touch
But the rain and the sky-bright candle
Rest in their claws, indebted to their whims.
The settlers perched above perilous death
found fine land in Shnon’s realm.
They took it for themselves
And so the ants rose against the Kuroni.
Hemolymph spilled on both sides,
Amber drops among the rocks
For the appetites of devouring vultures.
